1. Acceptance

By joining the skingem waitlist or using the skingem app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use skingem.

These terms apply to all users — consumers, creators, and brand partners. Additional terms apply to brand accounts and are set out in your data-sharing agreement.

2. What skingem is

skingem is a skincare product discovery app for South Africa. It provides review signal filtered by skin type, skin concerns, and age group, alongside live price comparison from SA retailers. skingem is not a retailer — we do not sell products directly.

skingem is in pre-launch. Features described on this website represent our intended product. Not all features may be available at launch.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information and keep your profile up to date. You may not share your account credentials or use another user's account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, submit false information, or engage in behaviour that harms the skingem community.

4. Reviews and content

When you submit a review on skingem, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and aggregate that review as part of the skingem product — including in anonymised cohort data provided to brand partners.

You retain ownership of your reviews. You may request deletion of your reviews at any time by emailing hello@skingem.co.za.

Reviews must be honest and based on your genuine experience. Do not submit reviews for products you have not used, or reviews that are misleading, defamatory, or in exchange for payment without disclosure.

5. Pricing data

Price data shown on skingem is sourced from SA retailer listings and is updated regularly but may not always reflect live pricing. Always confirm price at checkout. skingem is not responsible for pricing discrepancies between what we display and what a retailer charges.

6. Brand accounts

Brand account access is governed by a separate data-sharing agreement. The terms in that agreement take precedence over these general terms for matters related to brand data access, reporting, and API use.

7. Limitation of liability

skingem is provided as-is. We make no guarantee that any product recommendation will suit your skin. Product suitability varies — always patch-test new products and consult a dermatologist if you have concerns.

To the extent permitted by South African law, skingem is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be resolved in South African courts.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as skingem evolves. We will notify users of material changes via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
